CLOUD GATEWAY

PAC Storage Cloud Gateway supports file and block-level data transmission and data migration between local storage and the clouds through common protocols. Our cloud services include offers cloud caching, data tiering, and backup for disaster recovery. PAC Storage arrays have built-in data compression and deduplication features that effectively minimize data size and reduce storage and transmission costs. Transmissions are SSL-encrypted for security alongside a unique encryption key, ensuring no one else can decrypt your data.

SSD CACHE

Our SD Cache leverages the high speed and low latency of SSDs in delivering up to 16 times faster read performance than systems without SSD Cache and further improves response time as much as 88% latency reduction. PAC’s SSD Cache feature helps users to meet with high I/O loads and storage capacity in read traffic-intensive environments such as online transaction processing (OLTP) and email (Microsoft Exchange). Within one PAC Storage system, you can run cache pools of up to 3.2TB with a maximum of 8 SSDS and the SSD Cache is simple to deploy and manage.

automated storage tiering

Automated Storage Tiering

PAC’s Automated Storage Tiering fully leverages the advantages of different storage media, providing up to 150% performance improvement at no additional cost compared to a non-tiered configuration. It would allow users the flexibility to assign applications to two/four available tiers distinguished by different drive types and RAID levels. You can utilize the benefits of the massive capacity of spinning drives in designated tiers and SSDs for high-performance I/O required applications. Based on data usage analytics, you can migrate data to ensure your distribution of data within the storage pools is optimized.

Local/Remote Replication

Replication capability allows users to create full data copies across PAC Storage systems or within a single system in synchronous (recommended for critical data) or asynchronous mode (suitable for archive data). If the source data fails due to system malfunctions or disasters, users can leverage the disk-based remote copy to restart services in a few minutes. If the source needs to resume its role, it can quickly be synced with the remote copy while adjusting only for differences. Volume copy is also supported for application development.

What is Snapshot data storage?

Snapshot

The PAC Storage Snapshot functions provide instant point-in-time copies of data that users can immediately restore from data disruption. Data changes will be copied to the snapshot volume when new writes occur preventing accidental modifications, deletions, and corruption with minimal capacity requirements and performance overhead. Snapshot will split and re-sync mirroring between source and copy as business needs require. PAC Storage arrays offer up to 4096 snapshots per system with an advanced license (Default: 128 snapshots/per system).

Thin Provisioning

PAC Storage’s Thin Provisioning allows users to allocate a large amount of virtual capacity for an application server regardless of the actual physical capacity, and it is used only when data writes occur. This offers a large increase in storage utilization enabling you to purchase only the disk capacity you actually need and simplifies capacity planning and management tasks. Aggregated capacity is presented to applications in the form of virtual data volumes and these virtual allocations increase storage utilization up to 80-90%.

Intelligent Drive Recovery (IDR)

Intelligent Drive Recovery

PAC Intelligent Drive Recovery (IDR) offers superior RAID protection and recovery, preventing your data from errors and loss and extends the lifespan of your drives. Working best in RAID 6, IDR clones faulty drives and is capable for recovering bad sectors or blocks automatically in the background without interrupting the current work processes. Together with S.M.A.R.T (self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting technology), IDR offers smart media scan, which detects errors before they actually become a problem. It takes into account I/O demand while avoiding performance degradation, and can also be scheduled manually or set to automatic mode.
